Genny Jane's Bed and Basket

   The earliest picture we have of the house, and we think the baby in arms on the porch is Genny Jane.

     We had our eye on an interesting old house in town for a couple of years, wondering if it would fit our needs.  We loved the house, but couldn't reconcile some of the stories we had heard.  Finally we agreed that if we just couldn't live in the north wing, then we would turn it into a B&B.  And now, for the most part, that works out just fine for everyone.

     Genny Jane's has all the charm and ambiance of a century old house.  The business is named after the former owner of the house, Virginia Jane Morris, known to her family and friends as Genny Jane.  She was born in 1908, three years after the house was built, and she lived here all her life.  Because one family owned the house, it didn't change much over the years.  There were additions in 1914 (6 kids = more rooms) and 1923 (bathroom moved indoors), but the house retains a sense of individuality.  The high ceilings, window seats, and an abundance of interior and exterior doors (28 total) give the house a lot of character.

     We decided to finally fess up to the numerous questions and inquires we have mostly avoided for years.......Is the house haunted? 

     Well, no, probably not.  But some people, including us, have definatley experienced "something." What exactly do I mean?  Well, you would have to come and experience it yourself.

 In between the B&B and our part of the house is a large living room.  Notice our cat observing the large orb on the wall.  You can enlarge this picture and wonder for yourself exactly what he was seeing.  Google "orbs" if you are not familiar with them.

Genny Jane's Bed and Basket is a lovely little place in a small town setting.  We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Who We Are

Pam and David Bolerjack arrived in the Ozarks separately in the late 70's.  We met, married, raised kids and lived on 40 acres a few miles south of Berryville.

We are "outlanders", not from around here, but we got here as soon as we could, and can't imagine living anywhere else!

 Our garden gets bigger and better every year.  Sometimes we pretend that we know what we are doing.

 Last year we added chickens to our family.  We so enjoy serving fresh eggs to our guests.  Here you can see "the girls" having a party with grandma's spice cake.  Don't tell her we gave it to the chickens!

 Buffy always enjoys an afternoon snack.
