Genny Jane's Bed and Basket

   The earliest picture we have of the house, and we think the baby in arms on the porch is Genny Jane.

We had our eye on an interesting old house in town for a couple of years, wondering if it would fit our needs.  We loved the house, but coudn't figure out how to live there.  It was big, but only had one bathroom, and one day we just had a hunch about turning the north wing into a B&B. 

It took a quite a bit of work, but Genny Jane's Bed and Basket has all the charm and ambience of a century old house.  The business is named after the former owner of the house, Virginia Jane Morris, known to her family and friends as Genny Jane.  She was born in 1908, three years after the house was built, and she lived there all her life.  Because one family owned the house, it didn't change much over the years.  There were additions in 1914 (6 kids = more rooms) and 1923 (bathroom moved indoors), but the house retains a sense of individuality.  The high ceilings, window seats, and an abundance of interior and exterior doors give the house a lot of character.

We're selling an idea, the sense of Berryville as an alternative to the frantic pace of some tourist destinations.  We love the contentment we feel when sitting on the front porch, watching cars and pedestrians go by.

Genny Jane's Bed and Basket takes the name "basket" seriously!  In addition to the delicious and generous breakfast basket we provide our guests, we also make and deliver cookie gift baskets for all occasions.  Cookies available are: BIGS-white or dark chocolate/cranberry/pecan; Ginger Prissy's; Peanut Butter Sundogs; Oatmeal Willies; and Grandma's Sugar.  Pam currently markets at the Berryville Farmer's Market and the Eureka Springs Farmer's Market.

Who We Are

Pam and David Bolerjack arrived in the Ozarks separately in the late 70's.  We met, married, raised kids and lived on 40 acres a few miles south of Berryville.

We are "outlanders", not from around here, but we got here as soon as we could, and can't imagine living anywhere else!
